The Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives (PEARLS) educates older adults about depression and helps them develop the skills they need for self-sufficiency and happier lives. PEARLS takes place in 6-8 sessions over the course of four to five months in an older adult’s home or a community-based setting and allows for coordination with their current health care providers. Training, technical assistance, and support for community organizations interested in PEARLS is provided by the Health Promotion Research Center at the University of Washington.
PEARLS is a program by community organizations for older adults experiencing depression
