I'm one of those people who like to surf KZitem for remakes and interpretations of the Cocteau Twins songs and I find myself coming back here, to listen to, the Polyphony Choir. With my person history, I've heard many people try to perform their songs; usually, they fail to capture their true essence - NOT HERE...! Using a choir is epically brilliant, and I'm so glad to have the pleasure to listen to them; plus, it's not easy to get all the layering just right. Bravo...!

I want to learn how to write music and lead a choir just so I can write choral Cocteau Twins covers. I feel like there's a lot of potential there, which Polyphony hit on too.

@@BrobleYT Elizabeth is a fantastic performer when she's backed by classical instrumentation, but I wish I had been able to give this choir the real lyrics. These lyrics are off of the internet, which has multiple bad interpretations ― Nevertheless, it's wonderful to hear.

I remember when this was released. A choral cover would have been inconceivable back then. Many didn't even consider it music. Time is a great educator. The Cocteau Twins are now rightly lauded as trailblazers and apparently sufficiently mainstream for performances like this. Thank you for posting, I love it.

Good attempt, but using a structured and non-electronic approach to the Cocteau Twins music is missing the point; the Post-Punk aesthetic. Nice singing though and a brave attempt at deconstructing Frazer's neologisms and esoteric use of language.

Hi Simon, i’ve actually worked with Robin personally on some of my solo work (In My Dreams - Robin Guthrie remix, if you want to look it up) and Robin heard this version and loved it! Genre doesn’t need to be applied when reappropriating music. I appreciate you’re trying to be intellectual about things - but maybe just enjoy yourself more. lol Best of luck to you though! - Jack, Conductor.

@@polyphonychoir Ha ha! I love words and writing as well as music! I'm not trying to be anything. An unstructured, intuitive and improvised approach to music was always very important to me. However I enjoy Glass, Reich, Stockhausen, etc. Or maybe I'm just trying to be intellectual and not enjoy myself?! 😂
