The Peavey classic series amps are some of my favorites. These amps had the guys in Fender head office shi**ing themselves. Great amps.

I have two Classic 50’s, 2x12 and 4x10. I’m gonna get the 20 and 30 eventually. What I really want to find is the 115e cab to pair with the 4x10. I will not get rid of them. They’re great amps and people turn their nose at them not knowing what they are. They’re just as good as all the big names. 😊

@@jonbhorton Yeah, I have had the 2x12 but got rid of it and ended up with 2 4x10 classic 50s. I have the 1x15 extension cabinet and I can tell you the 4x10 stacked on top of the 1x15 is a fantastic sound. I reloaded it with a JBL 120F but the original Peavey speaker in the 1x15 sounded great too.

Thank you for this. Been curious about these when I see them for sale. Nice to hear a demo where the guitar is in tune and the player can play and knows how to dial in a clean tone. 🙂

Add a celestion g12 speaker and better yet through a Dr Z brake lite attenuator so you can crank the clean channel to 6 or 7. Use your guitar volume to get a sparkling clean tone and full volume to get glorious overdrive tones. All happening before the reverb. Enjoy!!!

I have an old one from the early 80s, replaced the speaker with a WGS ET65, glorious tone!

I don't gig much with this one but I might do a speaker swap as well. Maybe I'll try the WGS.

I have the Peavy Delta Blues 1X and it sounds very close to this amp. I play the new squier telecaster with the twisted tele pickup. Super jazzy - lots of spank too.

Yes, no doubt, is a Great Amp, big headroom, little Monster, but very underrated, don't understand why. Mine is a workhorse, from 98 and is Alive and Kicking, bit heavy.

Thanks for watching.. I'd have no problem gigging with a Classic 30. Great amp considering you can find a used on in great shape for around $400.

Want great tone for 2-400 bucks USD, these are the one. I always enjoyed a strat, clean channel cranked. No matter what the other band members were playing I poked through the mix and was heard clearly loud and proud. They would laugh at my little cheap combo amp at first. Until we started playing. My tone just took over. It was the main focus. Because it had cut, and it had tone for days. But working on these old things, its not really worth it, unless thats just your amp you depend on for your sound.

Hi and thanks for watching.. Yeah I feel the same. I gigged with a Classic 30 with an ext cab in the 90s playing everything from Beatles to Steely Dan with no pedals lol... I grabbed that older classic 30 for $300 just to do the review. It was mint. I never had an issue with mine. Maybe replaced tubes once. I sold the one in the review for $300 in a day.
