Absolutely, positively the most underrated bass ever made. First bass ever made with a cnc machine, American made, passive pickups yet can mimmick any bass, is both single coil and humbucker. Amazing thing. I adore mine.

This was my first bass! $200 in 1985 and loved all the weird sounds and cool tones I could get out of it. I wish I still had it, but traded it in for a Jazz bass and never looked back, until a few weeks ago. When I saw a the guitar equivalent (T60) on the wall at Thunder Road Guitars (Seattle). I asked about finding the T40 and he said they are now going for 1K to 1.6K 😳

Coolest under the radar bass out there. It can do any style and sound better then most of the basses known for that style.

I love my Peavey T-40. One of the best made basses ever. Absolutely love mine. I have never played a better made, better sounding or better playing bass in my life. OK, I admit, a day or two after a gig with my T-40, I ask myself if I should play a Steinberger. But it would never sound like this!

I JUST found one of these a couple days ago in a pawn shop in my home town and you've made a video on it! Just recently! Talk about luck. Hopefully grabbin it for $300 -$400. 1982 natural finish. Bit of a fixer upper, but WORTH IT. Somebody put a damn thumb rest on it, I'm so pissed. Gonna have to fill the holes

Beautiful bass! I've got a black 81 T-40. I can't get that amount of sweet treble out of mine. I use DR Stainless steel Hi beams. It should be full of mid and treble goodness. I guess I'll have to open her up and see if I have any issues with the pots. The neck is straight and the action is low. I should be getting great bite out of the frets just like my Rickenbacker.

Had one in Black in 1982. Bought it used for around 175 and sold it for that or less in 1986. Stupid move, I know, but I've got a lot of stupid stories like that. Wish I still had it.
