I recently had the opportunity to check out the new SGF from BSRI.
Hot damn. This is an absolutely wild bass / guitar dirt pedal. On bass, I feel like it's something for the demographic who finds Darkglass too modern / polished. This is just a beautiful midrange grind. SO FUN.

From The Manual:
SFG is a bass and low tuned guitar focused distortion pedal with a voice that ranges from vintage to modern. It is designed to produce tones inspired by vintage distortion stompboxes while eliminating all of their shortcomings and dramatically increasing versatility. SFG features an active equalization circuit with BASS and TREBLE controls that provide 15dB of boost and cut to sculpt your perfect sound. SFG further allows you to blend in clean signal at full bandwidth or at two low pass filter settings for signal chain configurations that simulate studio bi-amping techniques for massive distorted bass tones. SFG features a comprehensive power protection scheme to prevent damage from overvoltage or reverse polarity power supplies and runs on 36V internally for massive headroom.
Level - Sets the output level of the overdriven signal.
Blend - Sets the output level of the clean blend signal. Ample boost is available and SFG can function as a full-bandwidth clean booster at high BLEND levels.
LPF Toggle- Three-way low pass filter switch for the clean blend signal. Center is full bandwidth. The up position rolls off highs starting at 1KHz to remove clank and presence from the clean signal so it doesn’t clash with the overdrive signal. The down position rolls off highs starting at 150Hz so you’re only blending in clean subs.
Bass +/- 15dB low shelf at 100Hz
Treb +/- 15dB high shelf at 4KHz
Grind - Sets the amount of gain for the overdrive signal. Ranges from mild grit to massive grind.
ATTACK (+/++) - Sets the amount of bass in the clipping circuit and thus the attack of the distortion and overall texture of SFG. The center and + settings are tighter and more cutting to retain clarity with low tunings. The ++ setting is similar to many vintage distortion pedals with the full frequency range feeding the distortion circuit which sounds huge and sludgy. The EQ controls allow for setting the overall amount of bass and treble in the circuit so consider the ATTACK switch as a voicing control for the distortion texture.
