MY PELEE ISLAND TIPS:
#1 Book your ferry FAR FAR in advance! www.ontarioferries.com/pelee-... Ideally I suggest staying on the island 1-2 nights as 1 day there is not enough. It is very hard to book the ferry (not sure if it's just me but I had this issue for 2 years in a row, last year I was not able to book it at all but that might have been due to lockdown limitations). All convenient hours get sold out very far in advance.
#2 Best way to explore the island is by your own car! (we were not able to get our car on the ferry so went by ourselves but we did book the golf cart from: peleeislandadventures.com We did love the golf cart but I did find it expensive ($225 for 3.5h rental) and that time was not enough to see the island we only saw 2 stops. Golf cart maximum speed is 30km/h (though it felt much slower) and it island is pretty large in distance. Btw the golf carts also do get sold out (and I imagine bikes as well) so also make sure to pre-book!) .....I think by now you see the "theme" of this experience hehe.
#3 Many of the stops we wanted to see were closed. The bakery was closed and the ruins are on private property so you need to book a tour. Make sure you do your research before going there. For some reason I though the ruins would be free for everyone but that was not the case.
#4 Have your own food! There is a tavern and a winery where you can eat but we did not have a second to spare as we wanted to explore and only had 1 day. Bakery was closed. Ice cream place had about 15 people in the line up. Make sure to have your own snacks and drinks.
#5 Fish Point (the most Southern Point) was by far the best thing we saw on the island (though the ferry ride was calming and lovely too). The Fish Point however is about 30 minute hike each way. Make sure to follow orange flags, as the hiking path splits and goes to a dead end. Half of this hike is along the shore. We were there in plus 32 heat - make sure to bring water and hat!
Overall the island and the experience is beautiful and almost surreal! There are challenges but I am glad we went! (I do wish I was more prepared but hopefully my points above will help you, if they do please like the video to help my channel :)
