edit: Success. All future videos have this mod. Example wall climb capability • TRXcellence Vol. 5 So as we all know, at steep angles, the weight of the truck shifts, causing shocks to unload, which causes the springs of the shocks to push the body / chassis away from the axle. This of course, causes a center of gravity shift, which at steep angles, can cause your truck to roll.
This mod puts a pen's spring internally around the shock shaft, to push back on the piston, to counteract the outer spring's tension. Getting the balance of spring tension is crucial, because you want your shocks to extend under axle weight, to keep traction..but at steep angles, you want the internal spring to keep your body/chassis from lifting.
With enough brass, this shouldn't be a problem. I personally only have outer portals and c-hubs, so if you've got more..you're probably good to go, depending on the pen spring's rate. Other ways to add weight, would be a brass diff cover, metal axles, some sport guys put brass washers in their diffs, etc etc. As long as your axle weighs enough to pull down vs your pen (internal) springs..you should be good to go. Hopefully.
This is all new to me. I've heard of it, but haven't seen anyone who's done it or really talked about it..and I've been wanting to try it for a while. Lemme know what you've found out about it!
