@Olive_O_Sudden I'm just saying 🤣 not all of them are friendly. Theyre smart, so smart they're comparable to humans (also anatomically close to humans), but they're not always, as you said, sociable. Shearing sheep in the summer can be beneficial for their well-being. Here are a few reasons why shearing sheep during this season is commonly practiced: 1. Heat regulation: Sheep's wool acts as insulation, keeping them warm in colder months. However, during summer, a heavy wool coat can make them susceptible to heat stress. Shearing can help them stay cool and prevent overheating. 2. Hygiene: Sheep can accumulate dirt, urine, and feces in their wool, especially in warmer weather. Shearing removes these substances and helps maintain their cleanliness, reducing the risk of skin infections and flystrike. 3. Parasite control: Shearing can assist in identifying and treating external parasites like ticks and lice, as they become more visible without the wool covering. It also makes it easier to apply preventive treatments. However, it's important to consider a few factors before shearing during summer: 1. Sunburn risk: Shearing exposes the sheep's skin to direct sunlight, which can increase the risk of sunburn. Providing shade and ensuring that the sheep have access to sheltered areas can help protect them from excessive sun exposure. 2. Adequate fleece length: Sheep still need some wool to regulate their body temperature and protect their skin from the sun and certain insects. Shearing too close to the skin may leave them vulnerable to sunburn and insect bites. It's advisable to consult with a veterinarian or an experienced sheep farmer to determine the best time and appropriate shearing length for your sheep based on their specific breed, location, and climate. They can provide you with personalized advice for your sheep's well-being.

I am a liar, you are a liar. I am a thief, you are a thief. We have all sinned. We have all broken God’s law and fallen short of His glory. The consequence of this is death. Hell. God is perfect and He will judge you with a perfect standard. Anyone less than perfect, is worthy of condemnation. So I ask you, are you perfect? Only someone deluded would say they are. But God, out of the love He has for us, gave us a way to be saved from eternal damnation. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for your sins. He was then buried, and on the third day He resurrected. Christ died for you. He took the punishment in your place. He lived the perfect life you could not, and then was crushed under the full wrath of God, bearing our sin on the cross. He paid the fine for your crime. Jesus resurrected from the dead, defeating death. This is a sign that God almighty approved the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. And now, Christ is the only way to escape punishment. Christ is the only way to be saved. Repent, and believe in the gospel. Believe on Jesus Christ. Put your faith in His death and resurrection alone to save you. You cannot be saved by your own works. Salvation is by grace, through faith. Repent, and believe. You have been presented this today. You are without excuse. God bless you.

I hate hearing this, Im a* farmer and we have about 60 sheep and 2 rams, last year the sheerer messes up scheduling and instead of helping us find a solution she let all of our sheep go through the entire summer with a 3inch coat of wool and said it was no big deal, like why don't you guys try laying out in the sun wearinga huge wool jacket for hours on end.

@@James-hz5ef Severe matting is extremely painful, it is pulling on the skin, the sheer weight of it. When a sheep goes too long without being shorn, problems occur, it could be harbouring lice. Sheep can become overheated and die. Urine, feces and other materials get trapped in the wool attracting flies, maggots, it causes irritation and infections.

This is very validating to me!!! I tried to rescue a cat from inch or so thick mats once & wound up cutting a hole in them before resolving to take them to a vet for stitches & the rest of the shearing. That sounds pompous of me, but i was living way below the poverty line, & my housemates would not even let me keep her, even though she had just been living under our bush abandoned by former residents & crying for months and months. ..... The sad ending to the story is that a housemate took her to a shelter against my wishes, in the end, and I don't know whether anyone ever adopted her or if she just died traumatized & alone in a jarring crowd of other damaged-feeling furbabies. .....

Fun little story about that. My friends were bird hunting (we’re all big into pheasant and grouse hunting, all wild hunting, not club). They found a bald eagle with lead poisoning, probably ate a dead bird which had been shot. They picked the thing up and put it in their dog’s kennel in the truck, and drove it to the DNR. Best part? Eagle didn’t fight back. Sure, it was sick, but bald eagles are sons of bitches. They released it when it healed up

@@MattyKwik you're right...in general animals are very dumb, primitive, and un-evolved. However, on the emotional side, some of them that were raised around humans get a sort-of understanding of human behavior and they are able to decipher some basic human characteristics of intent. Meaning- they feel whether the human intends to harm or help them. It doesn't actually make them smart- just adaptive via enhanced survival instincts. Like I said, everything you said about eating their babies and the poop, ect. is absolutely correct. However in this case the sheep clearly understood that she was being helped, not harmed, and she let it happen without a struggle.
