So incredible to revisit a place you loved as a child now that you are an adult. Penshaw Monument looks great in the daylight and at night.

Thankfully this was one of those places that didn't seem awesome as a child and when revisited as an adult it wasn't how I'd remembered, this place was exactly how I remembered, and I couldn't agree more, it's impressive in both day and night time.

I love a free entry site like yourself 🙏 Really pleased you enjoyed seeing the places of heritage, and I love how you often pick up on how green things are here. It reminds me not to take it for granted as you're right, not everywhere in the world is this green!

It's always good to visit places that you remember fondly as a kid, I could tell the monument was a very special place for you. For good reason too, it's certainly got an ideal location. Love the lights too! Finchale Abbey was a real treat too, I was thinking the same about the condition of it. Yes uit may be ruined but there's plenty of signs of life. Interesting details too!

Last part of my research finchale priory sometimes referred to as finchale abbey was 13 th century benediction priory remains are sited by river wear four miles from Durham it’s grade listed building established in 1195 disestablished in year 1535 . Founder bishop high pudsey located from village moor County Durham visiable remains foundation of 12 th century chapel extensive remains of later monastic complex . It’s English heritage. There are several attractions such as Durham landmarks, legends self guided Durham history tour , cathedral old city, deathly dark ghosts tour , bloody tour of York tourism award winner 2022 , guided city walking tour of new castle , Newcastle food tour , Newcastle castle, myth legends of Durham , walking tour York tour on foot , travel genie tour , ghost bus tour of York , Durham city half day tour , new castle gory tour Roman Viking medievalac marvels in York . Actually as subscriber in dr Barry vann he is retried dean he said you must use punctuation in writing style as comma and full stop. Ido grammatical tests on line it’s b2 I do my best to be better . Thank you for your sharing your trips with us encourage us to explore places unknown to us learn new information. Good luck to you your ones stay safe blessed .

Ooooh I didn't know there were self guided tours around Durham and Newcastle - I might need to check those out next time I'm up that way! The Newcastle food tour sounds amazing too! You're right about the use of commas, especially when listing things like you did. Am I right to think in Arabic, you don't use commas in the same way? My tip would be to use the comma immediately after the word, don't put a space between the last word and comma, the space goes between the comma and the next word. I hope you don't mind me feeding this back - I think it's amazing that you can write all of this when it's not your mother tongue, or the alphabet you were brought up with! 🙏

How are you doing mrs Caroline actually iam very happy idont know before England have so many historical places yes all of us know England have great civilization and land of literature I discovered last year there are Lake District called lake poets in Cumberland now called Cumbria three poets lived there William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor, Coleridge Robert Southey. Any away as always iam gathering main information about places you visited briefly here it’s penshaw monument it’s officially earl of Durham monument is memorial in style of Ancient Greek temple on penshaw hill in metropolitan of borough of city of Sunderland north east England located near village of penshaw between town of Washington and houghton lespring in historic County Durham monument was built between years 1844 and 1845 to commemorate John lambton is earl of Durham Governor General of British North American author of Durham report on future governance of American territories it’s owned by national trust since 1939 its grade listed structure architect John and Benjamin green visitors can climb to top of penshaw from Good Friday to end of September .walk is accessible but be ready for steep climb through botanical gardens relaxing walk around river wear in Durham city .

William Wordsworth is probably the best well known and associated with the Lake District out of the 3 poets you mentioned. So funny that you bring up the Lake District as it's exactly where my new series (starting today) will be based and in one of them visit the Wordsworth Daffodil memorial garden. Interesting that you research too says visitors can climb to top of Penshaw from Good Friday to end of September as I was there towards the end of August so it should have been open 🤷♀️

Nice video, but it's called Finchale Priory not Abbey.
