My micromanager boss often interrupted my work to make me pay attention to another less urgent task and repeated this process for the new task too. Nothing was ever handed in on time or at the caliber I wished to offer because he had to tell me how to do my job, when to do it, and divert my attention to "emergencies". I was getting panic attacks just hearing a message vibration on my phone.

Yeah, it sucks when you got a plan in mind but you can't even execute it fully or at all because the manager might just pull the plug and force you to do it their way at any time.

So true. Sadly I find no matter where I go this is the style of “leader”… I’ve realized how few true leaders there are. I’ve been stuck for 8 years in this kind of misery. The thought of this just being the rest of my life is so depressing. My boss asked me to start coming in an hour earlier even though my work product is fine… I couldn’t fight him. So now I’m here alone in the office an hour before anyone. And I have nothing to do!…. Why can’t employees trust their people to just do their jobs? I’m a very hard worker. And they still just want me to have my butt in the seat even when my work is finished and done well… it’s a sad existence

reason why I am quitting without notice my manager even makes things up about me not doing my job when I am literally the hardest worker there. He snatches things out my hand and barks orders at me telling me to get over here right now.

I don't micromanage my staff because they get the work done. However, my director thinks I should but if I did, then I wouldn't have a staff 🤷🏾♂️

I don't trust you...I merely hired you to do a job properly...And since it's me who's gonna suffer the most incase YOU fuck up, imma micromanage just to be sure It's how the world works mate...if I'm paying someone to do a task...Imma make sure he does it properly...cuz it's my money on the line... I will surely stop this, when I'm sure you're trust worthy, efficient and dependable...salary is no limit...I can give a good raise..but until then, you're a stranger and I can't be trusting you so soon

My chain of command is very micromanage-y. We have to obtain approval for EVERY. SINGLE. LITTLE. THING. AND then you have the customers who operate the same way.

Work for a good company that has 140 field sales representatives all of them very professional, well educated, tenured pros in the field. At the beginning of the year leadership switched to Micromanagement. We are down to 103 representatives nationwide and those still with the company are exhausted with it. I'm pushing back on leadership. Not out of anger but out of care for what was once a great place to work.

This currently happening to me when my performance is poor when I get a big improvements it was questionable they are doubting my abilities to get the work done and still micromanage me I just don't know what to do I will just work until they let me go.

Micromanagement might not be required if you're paying well But if you're a small business, SURE GO AHEAD... MICROMANAGE..ITS A NECESSITY...You cannot afford to be losing $$$ because your people are skiving off...small businesses definitely need to be micromanaged
