#17: Ugandan Red Habanero

Capsicum chinense. These are from Uganda and are among the more hot, flavorful red habanero varieties. Thick walls, smooth skin, lovely deep grooves.These were an experiment this year and may be the first and last two from this year’s harvest (we got some varieties started very late) - and they’re BEAUTIFUL, so Doug decided to join in.

#18: 7 pot evergreen
Scoville rating: 1,000,000-1,200,000

Capsicum chinense. These are supposedly the hottest of the green chinenses, although I’m guessing that mustard varieties are not included in that because these are significantly less painful than the big mustard mama I did a couple weeks ago. Fresh, crisp, clean, not as sweet or fruity as some of the other superhot varieties. The plants have been producing like crazy and this is one of the smaller pods as we near the end of the season. Definitely growing these next year 💚
