Thank you for making videos for those of us interested in pathology! There seems to be far and few youtube videos on pathology, so everytime I see your videos, I remember what I'm truly studying for day in and day out - to get to do what you do and be the level youre at. One day!

Please keep posting videos this year for us PGY-1, you have no idea how helpful your videos have been. I know you are more GI pathologist, but would love it once you have covered most of the GI pathology topics, to go and try to cover other system as well. Thank you again😊!

Thank you So much for this video! *I hope you see this comment and are able to answer my following question..* If the Gastroenterologist sends a biopsy to pathology with suspicion of Celiac's, does that mean that the pathologist can Only test that sample for the possibility of Celiac’s? Or is it that the pathologist tests for what the doctor suspects but the pathologist see findings of a completely different diagnosis and reports on that? Sorry if my question doesn't make sense so in laymans terms if the doctor hands you a sample and says I think this is an apple, test to see if it screams apple. And when you do your testing you dont find anything to do with apples But you do find that the sample is showing heavily that it is of an orange...do you then report back that "No apple findings were found" and that's that? Or would you report back "No traces of apple were found but high suspicion of orange findings were detected."? Thank you so much!

Short answer is no. If we receive a biopsy say of the duodenum for evaluation of celiac disease. We will look to see if there is anything that's abnormal. If history says "suspicious for celiac disease" and we don't see features of celiac disease but see a tumor, we will report that a tumor is present.

There are degrees of villous atrophy to mild blunting to practically flat. However, we are only able to evaluate the tissue that was biopsies.
