I have access to any brand I want , and when I put on the OP 36mm "white" I was immediately sure that in this very moment that was the watch. That was what I wanted to look at. Is only that you can experience it when you put it on, go out to have a walk and the sun hits the dial. Why is it in almost every industry (i.e. electronics, automobiles motorcycles, musical instruments, tools etc.) that proprietary manufacture of a product is not seen as a good thing? It usually signals that there will be a much, much higher cost for service or replacement of parts. However, in the watch industry, an in-house movement is looked at like a badge of honor that is required to reach a level of extra high quality and value. Does an in-house movement actually give a watch higher quality and value or is it just another marketing ploy to drive up perceived value and therefore prices? P.S. Love your review videos as much (maybe more) for the visual production values as the commentary. Great job!

Dan Dahl I hope that’s true of my knockabout Tissot Gentleman, I’d be delighted if it can keep ticking as long as my Rolex watches (ceramic Sub Date & Datejust 41). For anyone interested I’d say the Tissot Gentleman’s dimensions are absolutely spot on. 40mm case, 36mm dial, 11mm width. That’s the golden ratio for me. Perfect length hands, hour markers. Superb legibility in all light levels. Wears quietly. Everything just so. You don’t have to spend thousands to appreciated good well thought out Swiss design, even though the Tissot is derivative of the Datejust and JLC Master Control etc. The ultimate average of averages. It’s one of my favourite pieces and I only kept it originally as I was blown away by the ETA movement with 25 jewels and silicon balance spring, the trickle down from Omega in the same umbrella group. Accuracy is my thing and it’s well within COSC without advertised as being such. If you’re looking for a fun bang for the buck watch in these dark days get one on order online. You can always send it back within 30 days if it’s not your thing. No, I’m not on commission :) keep safe folks.

My DJ from 1985 runs perfectly today, serviced / repaired in 1987 after a hit which still hurts to think about (suddenly loose rotor & buzz BUT it kept winding and running COSC time until repair) service in 2002 and 2011. My wife's 26mm Date is also 35 years young with two services (last in 2011) and still runs like new.

Pleasantly surprised at how watchable the beginning of the videos are on this channel. Well done.

I have the same watch in 36mm but with a sapphire blue dial. It was my very first Rolex and my very first luxury watch. I now have the Rolex Submariner in 41mm and the Rolex Sea Dweller in 43mm. I also have an Omega Seamaster with a blue dial in 42mm, an Omega Planet Ocean with the German blue dial in 43.5mm and an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional in 42mm. One day I hope to purchase the very classy Rolex Datejust with the black sunburst dial, Jubilee bracelet with the fluted bezel. To this day, though, my very first Rolex, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual, with the 3, 6, 9 blue sapphire dial, is still my favorite watch. It is a simple, yet elegant sports dress watch. Rs

I purchased my first Rolex a few days back (OP36 116000 with the steel dial) and I am absolutely impressed with how it lived up to what I had made it out to be. Great work!

Thanks for a wonderful mini-vacation to beautiful and timeless Italy. A fine timepiece to showcase with a little homage to H. WIlsdorf who would smile if he saw this. Cheers.
