I have watched about 67 million videos on acrylic beads, ratios, placements etc and this is the first video where it is explained in so much detail that I actually understand it. Ive gone.... As soon as I finished watching the video, I got up to try this. I always thought I had to grab my bead (at no particular angle) and immediately apply it to the nail. No wonder my first tries have been so difficult and the finished product was all over the place. Thank you!

@@nailnovice8781 honestly, this was game changing. The difference is day and night and I now know that my monomer is too slow to react to my acrylic powders and that all of my brushes are too small. NN, After watching this video, I sat down today and actually built a decent-looking nail, apex and all, because I was much more careful with my bead--I used the techniques for the size I wanted, I knew better what I was looking for in its composition, I was able to release it nicely, I was in control of it while I worked--and my result today is already many times better even than yesterday, and I've been working at this for several months. You made all the difference--I have the confidence to continue now, not dump all my stuff in the garbage. Miraculous. :) Thank you so much! XO

Hi@@nailnovice8781 thanx for replying, but i have 1 more question. Do u know why ur fingers /or/nail beds hurt once the acrylic is fully cured or set?
@nailnovice8781
5 жыл бұрын
Hi Christina. Nails should never hurt. Whilst doing them, or after! If it is tightness OR heat you are experiencing, you are probably working too wet. If you are using tips, it can mean the tips you have used are too small. They are trying to bounce back to their original shape (after being flattened down too much to fit the nail) as is pushing against the acrylic. If it's the skin of the finger that is hurting, you could be touching the skin with your brush and monomer. In this case, be VERY wary, if the skin is hurting now, an allergy has likely already developed.

Hi@@nailnovice8781, thanx again I used a form to sculpt this nail... So, I have never used acrylic on my natural nails. I've always use gel and never experienced this problem. I only did 1 nail on myself just to experiment. So it could have been that my liquid to powder consistency was too wet or maybe an allergy. I am going to use your video to help me with the consistency and sculpt another 1 on my finger to try and figure out why the soreness on my nail.
@nailnovice8781

@@christinaclerk4172 I see. I would say your ratio is too wet then. You won't have experienced it with gel before because gel is a pre-mixed perfect ratio. Best of luck :)
