Konkai-Komyoji Temple is the main temple of the Jodo sect in Kyoto, and is nicknamed Kurodani-san.
It is also known as the birthplace of the Shinsengumi.
Gion-Higashi is one of the five hanamachi in Kyoto.
Maiko is a training period until becoming a geiko.
She becomes a geiko after about five years of training.
In Kyoto, they are called geiko, not geisha.
