watch the live version of jabon from modern drummer 2005. or some live from from Nublu, like "To listen is to love". This guy is just a DnB powerhouse, i dont think any of us can fully appreciate his incredible skills

I love his solos because he never gets lost in the solo. Always keeps the groove going. You can literally nod your head through the whole thing. I'm pretty sure he was the inspiration for the drum machine.

@@ronelc.9012 Just listening to it, it sounded like a triple stroke followed by a single on the kick. But watching it in slow motion, it looks like only a double. So the third note must be from the snare: KKS_K and that's actually not too bad. But I have seen another video where Jojo is demonstrating his foot technique and he does a QUAD stroke on the kick with one foot. I can only get close to that using with the (George Kollias) swivel method, but I don't have control over that method it to do it consistently or as powerful. Jojo is a beast!

I think Jojo is one of the best around mainly because this is one of the few guys that can make solos that can amuse both drummers and non drummers. And that's not easy! Also,when I leave this solo on, my bird dances around!

@@marcusking8507 Why? That really wasn't very good for a dude who's supposed to be a "master." The only compliment I can give that laughable drum bit is that he has very good hand technique. No concept of what sounds good, playing a basic rhythm, dude is the most overrated guy ever.

He's legit amazing at everything. I see a video of him playing jazz, them i see him playing double bass, then I see him busting out nasty gospel chops, than a video of him playin some crazy polyrhythms, and now I here. Jesus what a beast!

This solo shows an incredible amount of personality. I mean, the feel I got from this was quite intriguing. There aren't many drummers who can speak with emotion through a drum solo as much as a melody would, but this guy seemed to do that. I have much respect for that.

Wow! from 2:22 to 3:50 min was the is why i love jo jo. That building up in intensity is awesome! as solid groove as it gets. A swirling vortex of fluid rotating energy. crop circle just discovered . fluid dynamics is the key!

Jojo has been around a lot longer than Noisia and if we are talking about break chops in particular,Noisia are waaay low on that list.Noisia's drum programming is weak sauce.not even approaching a semi decent imitation of Jojo's drum chops.you wanna hear real drum programming?check out Photek,Calibre,Boymerang,Fanu or Squarepusher for a more jazz tinged take on Jungle and DnB (probably the closest analog to Jojo too)

Because he's "jungle drumming". Originally a style of sampling blazing, vintage funk beats and incorporating them into drum and bass mixes. But drummers such as Jojo pioneered the genre onto the acoustic drum set.

I have to keep buying sticks that would be perfectly fine otherwise because my Gen 16 cymbals keep eating the tips like a pencil sharpener. They don't eat the nylon of a 5BN. Thanks!
