Performed by Irving Wilson School Deaf children, Bajan Hand Choir - 'Beautiful Barbados'
The Calypso Project 2022 culminates in a concert held in the very heart of the city center at the Frank Collymore Hall on the 9th November, 2022. Deaf children from Irving Wilson School will be given the opportunity to be center stage by joining professional musicians from Barbados Community College (BCC) to perform a series of pieces which represent the sound and spirit of the Caribbean.
Joining them will be internationally renowned deaf rap artists, Sean Forbes and Wawa, who will work with the children to create 3 new tracks which tell the story they want to be heard. The children have participated in percussion workshops run by the BCC, designed to show that deafness is not a barrier to music.
