I love the way you balance the sound of your bass playing and the music. Some people blend the Bass way to loud or the music they are doing. You nailed the perfect balance at least to my ears.

So so good. I've watched this video countless times. Such a great playthrough of this song and love the NG2. I had an NG3 but just couldn't connect with it comfortably. That scale on the NG series is just a little too long for me. The tone on the other hand is still one of my favorites.

I have the same bass - NG2 5 in yellow :) It's worth stepping up to the B7K - you have more control over that nasty 2khz and general guts of the bass tone. Your timing is excellent.

great cover and amazing tone. what is your opinion on the zoom B3? i have it too but am thinking to get rid of it because most pedals on it arent that great. How do you use it?
@Alecubass
7 жыл бұрын
joost boereboom Hey man. I found that the GK head and the 4x12 BM cabinet work great with my pedals and setup. I tend to send a very bright sterile signal to the B3 and try to tame it with the head and cabinet. Other than that, I use the dbx compressor and an EQ. Hope this helps. :)
@JuïcedM
7 жыл бұрын
Yeah oké so you mainly use it as a sort of preamp. I use the sansamp driver emu for a bit of dirt but am gonna see is those emulators can help me get a better tone.
@Alecubass
7 жыл бұрын
+joost boereboom I found the Sansamp on the Zoom B3 to be way too harsh. On the other, I don't like the original either haha. I had the Darkglass B3K in front of the Zoom and I was very satisfied.
@JuïcedM
7 жыл бұрын
Alecu yeah the sansamp is not really a subtle tone change. i would really like the darkglass b3k but the pricetag.... haha. do you happen to have any recomendations for drive like preamp pedals?
@Alecubass
7 жыл бұрын
joost boereboom The ODB-3 or any other drive pedals should work as well, but I highly recommend the Darkglass though, even with that pricetag. I bought mine new and do not regret it one bit.

What settings have you got on your bass and B3k? And are you then just going straight into an interface?
@Alecubass
8 жыл бұрын
I use the passive option with the series pickup mode on the NG-2. On the B3K I use close to max Drive, a bit over Half blend, and Boost Attack / Raw Grunt switches. I only used the Zoom B3 as a noise gate and audio interface. :)

Hey man, great job here.. Not that im any expert but doesn't the bass rhythm follow the kick drum on the first 8 bars of the chorus? .. Sorry to be picky, just wondering, anybody?
@Alecubass
8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, man. No, it doesn't follow the kick drum on the chorus, its just straight notes. I asked someone who had the Producer Pack of P3 to send me the isolated bass on Catch Fire and I think I played it exactly like Nolly did on the album. :)
