2:13 - Perlman changes left hand positions in the opposite order - and he got immediate laughing reaction in the concert hall :) Those Russian knows how to listen to the classical music :D :D :D This is not only technically brilliant, but also very funny and clever performance.

I love how he ends the piece... puts a smile on my face every time. That's Perlman's degree of showmanship... he knows he doesn't need razzle dazzle to get noticed because he's just the best. Easily the strongest player in history -- overall. I'm not saying he's the best at EVERY piece, but damn near close.

This piece is one of the st brilliant ever. But I think the most genius part is the syncope at 2:00 where the violin enters one beat after the piano. The suspension it creates I'd simply breathtaking 😃

My violin instructor tells me that every good violinist knows when they need to just intensely focus on the task at hand(the hard parts specifically) and just go in and get business taken care of, then go and enjoy the easy parts. I feel like this whole piece is one of those get business done kinds of things, be musical, but its all written out for you. This music speaks for itself. What a wonderful piece. Currently studying this myself. A beautiful performance by Perlman as always.

Maybe it is not the most difficult composition for a violin but there is not an other violinist who could it so well play as Pearlman !! It is BY FAR THE BEST performance of this Bazzini work,I heard before. For that matter this is the most popular work from Bazzini maybe because of its high virtuosity .

I got to see Perlman play this live, in the late 70s, I believe. It would have been very close to the same time as when this was recorded. This was at a high school auditorium in Elkhart, Indiana, maybe a few weeks after Perlman appeared on the cover of Newsweek. What an absolute delight to find a recording of him doing the Bazzini - I'm still as thrilled to hear it today as I was more than 30 years ago.

The beauty of a live performance is hearing those small imperfections. The fact that the crowd gasped shows that they knew the piece well enough to recognize just how lost he got. There were a few slurs before the "big" mistake and he pulled it together. It's such an easy piece to run into a ditch... While there were imperfections, the performance was brilliant. I'm impressed with the master as well as the audience.
