Yes, above a five leaf, pointing outward in the direction you want it to grow. You can cut it wherever you want, but pruning properly is key in having a beautiful shape to your rose bush. Anyone can deadhead however they want and it's still going to grow and bloom, but good technique really does show in the direction the branches grow and overall form. Sixty rose bushes and counting!

David Austin had dyslexia so humours me that roses have literacy characters. ❤ love his names and learning about the authors artists .

Tam o’ Shanter is one of my favourites. We planted one in 2009 and it has been spectacular every year. No diseases, robust with lots of flowers. Mine is planted in a raised area behind a rock retaining wall, which puts the flowers at face level when you walk past it. The scent when you walk past is lovely, and quite strong because the flowers at face level.

Sounds absolutely perfect and exactly what I would suggest. I’m really glad that you enjoy it. How do you find the fragrance? I was expecting it to be a little stronger.

@@loving_love_loving @loving_love_loving спасибо, буду иметь в виду.

Hello Ben Love your Videos - it's unrelated however can you help please? I gave away my Alexandra of Kent - massive profusion or blooms but the Tea scent was just too weak. How much better would an Princess Anne be or should I swap ideas completely and go for a Penelope Lively which you speak so highly of. For a Shady Area in a Tub. Kindest Wishes to you

Hello and thank you for your comment. Please bear a reminder that no Rose will ever show all of its characteristics in its first 24 to 36 months so hopefully you didn’t give up on the princess Alexandra of Kent too quickly. Princess Anne has a 4⭐️ fragrance rating with myself, princess Alexandra of Kent scored a seven Penelope lively is ranked with myself at a 8⭐️

Thank you for your question lady Emma Hamilton and dannshue both will do best in partial shade either receiving morning or late afternoon sun bring me sunshine however will do very nicely in full sun although you may find the flowers bleach out to heavy cream or very light yellow as a result
