The wiring he is talking about is for a 12V system! 6V is a completely different wiring diagram. Get in touch with Pertonrix for the correct wiring diagram if your car is still a 6V electrical system. This what I found out. The Positive black/white wire is connected to the negative side of the coil. The black wire is connected directly to the existing switch wire which used to be connected to the positive pole on the coil. The PerTronix black wire is grounded directed to the engine block or battery with a 20 Amp grounding strap.

Anyone know what model part number works in a '53 Dodge, positive ground, six cylinder, flathead ? And do I need another number for the magnetic goodie ? And do I replace the hard wire ignition wires with those type that look like black string ? And do I use a stock coil ? Whew !

With a timing light and a vacuum gauge. I've had my pertronix (12v) for about 16 years now and while I do have a spare never needed it or have had any problems with it.
