There's not a lot that gets me fired up but this does it every time!
In what world does it make sense that insurance should tell a therapist (ya know... the expert, the specialist, the one with extensive training and a master's degree in the area of concern...) how often they can see the client?!
It just doesn't. The math aint mathin...
And this is just one of the many reasons that families are seeking out private pay clinicians. They want their loved one to make progress as soon as possible, so why wouldn't they opt for therapy that follows the expert recommendations?
I LOVE the autonomy that clinicians have in private practice. You truly can do WHATEVER is best for the patient and you don't have an admin or DOR or insurance company telling you otherwise. And your clients can finally get the therapy they need to make the progress they deserve!
It just makes sense...
If you're done having therapy dictated by someone else, I invite you to join me inside the Start Your Private Practice program where I lay out the exact steps that you need to take to start a legal, profitable, and sustainable practice where you can serve the clients you're most passionate about in the way that you know is best!

About Jena:
Jena Castro-Casbon, MA, CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist who ventured into the world of private practice when she’d had enough red tape and restriction from higher-ups who had no idea what SLPs really do with our patients. She started her own practice in a quest for more freedom, flexibility, finances, and family time.
Jena has helped over 15,000 SLPs and OTs find the same for themselves since 2008. Her flagship program, Start Your Private Practice, will help you get your ducks in a row, get legal, and get started. From the decision to make a change to seeing your first clients, and everything in between, this course and community have you covered.
She’s the host of the Private Practice Success Stories Podcast and the author of the book, The Path to Private Practice: How Any Speech-Language Pathologist or Occupational Therapist Can Become a Successful Private Practitioner.
