Here’s a truck I sure haven’t seen for awhile. This was the first Pete 320 ASL delivered to the Palmdale yard (They were delivered out of numerical order) I filmed it on its first week of service back in 2017 collecting its Palmdale trash route. In 2021, it was replaced with a CNG ACX and moved to a route that services county areas such as Lake LA, Juniper Hills, Antelope Acres, and Littlerock etc. Recently it was in the shop for awhile and during that time my good friend Joel transferred onto this route from his yardwaste route in Lancaster. I was headed home after filming 106090 when I saw this truck waiting to turn into a neighborhood and immediately recognized Joel at the wheel. He was sent over to help on this route after finishing his Littlerock route. Immediately I decided to turn around and go say hello.
Right away I was quite impressed with this truck, it actually was always on the slow side but they finally got that fixed. On top of that it’s not often I see county drivers helping on city routes. Joel said he really likes the new route because it has a lot less cul de sacs than the greenwaste route he was running 106325 on. He also said the truck was very nice too despite it being a couple years older than 325. Always fun getting to see these Peterbilts on trash as finding one, especially a 320 on trash isn’t very common anymore after they took 105675 off my route. I think this and 105674 are the only 320s that do trash, and both are county route trucks.
Big thanks to Joel for letting me film! One of these days I’ll probably try to get him working the county area on some steep hills and dirt roads which is a big contrast to the normal and much easier city filming I usually do. Might be interesting footage.
