Used to watch Pete at Donte's with Louie Belson all the time and he's just gotten better over the years!

Pete is the most underated sax player I know. The only guy who can play sax better than Pete is Chuck Norris.

pete's sound is pretty legendary. but dudes like Chris Potter and Michael Brecker run circles around him, technique-wise. Pete is still my favorite tenor player, tho. I'll check out those other dudes for chops/practicing ideas, but i'll listen to pete for "The Sound", cuz to me, he has the perfect tenor sound.

I rarely felt a thing when listening to Michael Brecker. Chris Potter is wonderful and Pete is as good as he’s ever been, and I first heard him when he was 19 playing with Sy Zentner at Disneyland.
