hilarious comment - it's got quantize silly - it's extremely simple to chop any beat and have it smoothed out into the rhythm you set. Maybe you don't really have any experience with it after all.. or ability to play a real instrument pre-filter-sample-loop-chop-sequence

I was riding down melrose on my bike in LA and I saw Pete this was in late 90s I jumped off the bike and the bike crashed into traffic lol I ran up to Pete star struck and said... u peterock man , he said yea that’s me son lol...I was soo excited....he gave me an autograph and I bounced...he’s one of the greatest producers that done it and he was and is a great inspiration to me to this day... peace

Back when this was uploaded there wasn't a lot of videos of producers making beats so this video really cleared up a lot of the mystery of how an MPC, or sampler in general, worked. I remember really wanting to see him work with an SP-1200 (which happened to be uploaded a few years later luckily)

Desiree Holgersson Nah. you don't have to tell me that. He's one of my faves too. I always felt like Pete Rock and Premiere had the most hypnotic beats but Dilla, No I.D., QD3 and Hi-Tek are some other really great producers that I don't think ever got their due.
