I have one of the Rampads that were made for the Colts last season. It worked great on tour (especially for bus practice). It's held up wonderfully since, and sounds great! Pete is right on the money, and his phenominal playing showcases the benefits of the pad!

I've played on one many times, absolutely phenomenal pad, closest thing you're going to get to playing on a marching snare

I got this pad in a raffle and won! This pad is really awesome, especially the tuning. The only question I need to ask this RamPad company is where to get the stands, like what Pete is using.

Where can ram pads be purchased? they're great! I've had one for a while that I got from my teacher but I've recently replaced the head and tighten it unevenly and caused the plastic foundation to split and strip through in one screw. Although it still works and sounds great! id like to replace it

I think the purpose of a practice pad is to get the real feel of a drum without the 400+ price that drums go for which is exactly what this pad is. If you want a pad so you can practice quietly then I would go for a gum rubber pad, this pad is all about the feel under the hands and getting the most effective practice when switching from a pad to a drum

What I do is put a t shirt on top of it. This makes it significantly quieter

Could I theoretically put a Roland 10 inch mesh head on it, and have it silent; or is there a hard surface beneath the head? In other words, is it all tension, or is the head "on top of" a hard surface? It looks like a great piece of equipment, and that's very tight drumming. Thanks

Don't spend 70 dollars on it. While it is worth it, you can get it much cheaper on Amazon. I bought mine for 30 dollars. Once Amazon only has one in stock, it gradually brings down the price. Once I saw a symphonic one get as low as 18 dollars.
