Oh yeah, I remember being in CBGBs, which during the late 70s was the punk rock capitol. On this evening, I was there with my earliest childhood friend, Jon 'JD' Dworkow, who was working for my brother and his band (they were doing a show in CBGBs that night). Someone played 'Rebel, Rebel' on the jukebox; and being drunk as as skunk at the time, I got up on one of the tables and started dancing. About a couple of years later, 'JD', found himself working for Peter Frampton. What's more, 'JD' shares the same birthday as Bowie-and Elvis! True story!

Yes, indeed, folks, something's happening! My earliest childhood friend shares the same birthday as Bowie, and, when he was working for Peter Frampton, he was sent to South America in search of his favorite lost Les Paul. His name is Jon, and he's on page 2 of Mr. Frampton's memoirs. That reminds me: The first version of 'Rebel, Rebel' I ever heard was the 'Live At The Tower/David Live' LATINIZED version.

@@oceanhedonist265 Yes. His phrasing lines and ideas are very much inspired by jazz. He has the ability to create these long and interesting melodic solos unlike a lot of rock guitarists from that era who never ventured beyond pentatonic style soloing.

This is a hypothetical question; 1st off I love Frampton's music, I was 16 when I turned a rocker, his chord structures and progressions are so unique!) my inquiry: I'm 57 now and a 30+ yrs. blues/rock guitarist, arteritis has set in not bad yet only in my right thumb- my left index finger, my barre finger is gettin' stiff, how do these older rockers, some in their 70's deal with the pain, and the "burden" of a heavy Gibson, mine an SG & it's beginning to suck, what is their solution? Can anyone, including guitarist, tell me how they do it? Russell...
@juantailor

Russell Rainwater they take Advil and they adapt. You've heard the phrase "he doesn't play like he used to". I think it's the luck of the draw. . I've been playing guitar for 45 years. A lot of it fingerstyle. I am 54 now. You try different techniques and learn new things. One finger doesn't work so well, figure out how to get by more without it. When my right hand fingers began to slow down, l picked up slide guitar, and later mandolin. And of course take care to avoid injury by not overdoing it. We're not 25 anymore. As for Frampton, so far so good!
