Oh man, I was hoping you'd be getting back around to Home Free. This is so gorgeous. Austin just standing there, singing like an angel with the wind blowing through his hair. haha They've been releasing some amazing stuff lately. They had to cancel their tour this summer and during the quarantine they've had to get creative in how they record and film videos when they're living in different states. The result has been fantastic. Meet in the Middle, Down to the Honkytonk, Quarantine, Flowers on the Wall, all great stuff worth watching. I hope you'll check out their latest, at least, Everybody Walkin' This Land. It's amazing and powerful.

Amazing Grace was sung at John Lewis memorial and it was so appropriate. He was a great man and a great American.
@ronforeman2556

"Twas Grace that taught my heart to fear and Grace my fears relieved ... " John Newton, who wrote this most beloved of hymns, was born in 1725 in London. His Puritan mother died soon before his seventh birthday, and his strict sea-captain father brought him aboard his first voyage at age 11. After a rebellious stint in the British Navy, and a near-death experience at sea, John hit rock bottom by sailing ships loaded with enslaved Africans across the Middle Passage of the Atlantic to the Americas. "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a Wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am found was blind, but now I see." It took half a lifetime for the scales to fall from John Newton's eyes. Ironically, he actually wrote these lines to "Amazing Grace" BEFORE he quit the slave trade. Sometimes, we cannot see the full import of the evil that we do, or experience, until time, distance, and GRACE have had a chance to do their healing.

My sister sang this a capella at my mother's funeral. It was the last time she could sing this because her asthma worsened and she couldn't breathe well enough to carry the notes through. That sister passed away a few years ago and the family lost a rich and beautiful voice, while her church lost their first ordained female preacher.

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace." ~Ephesians 1:7 Amazing grace! How sweet the sound! That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind but now I see. 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved. How precious did that grace appear, The hour I first believed. Thro' many dangers, toils and snares I have already come. 'Tis grace that brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. When we've been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We've no less days to sing God's praise, Than when we first begun. The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, the sun forebear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, shall be forever mine. ~John Newton (1779)

I may be a die hard atheist; but "Amazing Grace" brings me to tears and sends shivers down my spine every time. It speaks to such a deep humanity; a humanity of compassion and acceptance. If ever you are feeling unworthy, unlovable, stuck in the dark night of the soul, "Amazing Grace" will lift you out like a rope thrown to somebody hanging from a cliff. peace - out.

Please don't confuse religion(which includes tradition)with a living being G-d shows his love in Israel ,they are an example what G-d wants for every being ,not ! by what they do but what he! does! for! them and anyone !he never gives up loving you ,but people are not perfect ,when they are saved ,they are changed ,the word used is glory, it means in the likeness of G-d and for some people that is very quickly, for others slowly, I'm one of the slowly ,I have learning difficulties, so how I change and communicate is probably different from you,I also find it hard to communicate don't understand socialisation,even harder body language combined there are many followers who could tell you what you might!want to know☺️🌼

The story of this song is undeniably remarkable. Written by John Newton, a former slave trader who was convicted and repented of his former life. When he talks about amazing grace and his wretchedness, he means it from his soul. And grace teaching his heart to fear and also relieving that same fear is such a profound and moving line. Beautiful song and well sung by these gentlemen.
