When he asked to be traded to a team closer to his ailing neice, they didn't, they traded him as far away from his neice as they could. For that one reason, I will always hate Burke, the Canucks and the douchebags behind that move. Zezel was a great Leaf back in 93, and when Burke came to the Leafs, I was choked. On a more jovial note, loved him in 'Youngblood', with Lowe, Swayze, and Reeves.

Peter's first cousin is Alex Lifeson, the guitarist in the rock band "Rush". I remember Peter as always being a hard working player. On the ice he rarely made mistakes and was always a big part of any team he was on.

If they had MLS during those days, he could have join Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson as a 2 sport athlete

Grew up in the Philadelphia area in the 80s, those Flyers teams were my team. That was a very unpopular trade when Peter was dealt to St Louis. Life was very unfair to Peter Zezel.

I was at that ceremony in Scarborough where they named a street after Peter. Those pictures of Peter signing the yellow jerseys of kids was taken in my back yard hockey rink on the Scarborough Bluffs at a charity event we threw. Both Peter and Mark Osborne attended our Hockey Day in Canada event out of the goodness of their hearts. I was thankful to have met and played hockey with Peter and he was a class act gentleman.

The Ontario Soccer Centre has this awesome photo of Peter Zezel on the wall as part of a soccer team. Can’t remember what the team was but I always thought it was cool to see Zezel on the wall before I go play indoor soccer.

Your channel is great! Keep up the fantastic work!!! This one was rough(quite a few of your videos coincide with dust, or sand, or something getting in my eyes making them water profusely... Weird, huh?) Anyway, it's amazing how repugnant people with a little responsibility, and more power than they deserve turn out to be... Anyway, thanks for the videos!!!

I remember the day Peter Zezel died. I was in Toronto and just bought a new suit that day. My girlfriend and I went back to the hotel room after a dinner out and turned the TV on when we heard the news. One of my all time favorite Leafs.

Thanks for putting together a wonderful video of Peter Zezel. He truly put humanity, as evidenced with the love of his niece as important for him, and lived a very good life, although cut short. A good life should be measured in quality rather than longevity, and he achieved quality for sure. Thanks again, and the ending with his mother was heartwarming.

I played against him in minor hockey. Great guy. It's sad how young he was when he died. What Burke did shows what he's made off. A leopard never changes their spots. Peter Zezel will always be remembered as a great team player who gave so much to so many sick children in his time here.

I remember Pete coming up with the Flyers along with Tocchet. They had a real chance to get a Cup when Pelle was alive. I live in South Jersey and drive near the practice facility AND the old school where Pelle lost his life. There was so much passion with those teams with Kerr, Howe, McCrimmon and Propp. I really thought that group was gonna bring Lord Stanley back to Philadelphia.
