Personally I find this etude has a hypnotic power on me, like the “Ave Maria” by Schubert and Gounod. Listening to it cleans my soul. Sublime performance.

I believe that when shooting this video, you guys may had the same thought that the director of the film “Pianist” had when he shot the scene in which the pianist played Chopin’s nocturne for the German officer in a war salvaged church. That is, no matter how terribly we humankind suffer, God is alway there to comfort us with the sublime music, and the pursuit of beauty will sustain us till the eternity.

This is a perfect example of why I dislike the word “etude”. This is more than a guitar study. It is an excellent composition, with an incredible depth of feeling. The bach cello suites were long relegated to the arena of “studies” before Casals showed the world what they really were- miraculous expressions of a human spirit.

Thank you for your comment. I am glad you enjoyed and appreciated the video. Croatia is well known country for its beautiful old towns and Adriatic sea. It's also know due to sports, but it is also a place with great musicians. Your support is very important for the channel.

This is Croatian music institute concert hall, in Zagreb, Croatia. Last year Zagreb was hot with strong earthquake, and concert hall was heavily damaged, along with many other old buildings in old Zagreb center, We have made series of donation concert recordings from april and may 2020, and this this one of them, recorded in damaged concert hall...

Thanks for your explanation. Now I understood. As we (Japanese) are living on the nests of earthquakes, I don't remember THE quake you experienced last year. Rather, I was thinking this may be one of the ruins of the civil war which I remember you experienced in the past few decades. We hope that you are having peaceful time recently.

Beautiful; the performer excels at romantic music such as this. But why did they make him play in a dilapidated concert hall? He deserved better than this weird set, which -- I ponder -- is consider "artistic" by the producers.

Our favourite concert hall was heavily damaged in Zagreb earthquake, and this is one of several supporting videos for Zagreb Music Institute Concert Hall.
