As Dani rightly pointed out that the torque in Diesel engine is addictive and require less gear change. I own Figo 1.4 Diesel and Nissan kicks 1.5 Diesel. My pick would be undoubtedly D"sell". By the way, the video was interesting.. 😊👍

@@VishalVKRbloodybeats I have driven that as well. It was powerful and fun to drive but it was not fuel efficient like K9K engine. The diesel engine ticks all the boxes. I would have loved to keep that turbo engine in a low floor sedan. ☺️

I drove both GT TSI and Ford tdci. Obviously tdci is lot more quicker and effortless. To match that tdci performance i have to strain that TSI motor which makes bit uncomfortable. Same even with Honda's naturally aspirated VTEC petrols u have to take that engine above 6k rpm to match the pull of a diesel running at 2.5k rpm. And as u mentioned diesels are twice reliable compared to all turbo petrols. So overall for a sensational and effortless driving diesel best.. Need diesel cars comeback in India.

For me, Diesel application is on heavy Bulldozers, JCB's, Tractors where the wheels frequently need to push the heavy slush/ mud/ rocks, to move ! Petrol application is on motorcycles (Hayabusa, Ninja, CBR fire blade, R15)where the Power to weight ration is very high resulting in 11000 RPM redline ! One word - Over square VS Under square We need both to sustain !

Ahhh Diesel engines are the best. The Higher power band that diesel engines possess can never be imagined by a petrol engine of same capacity. For you to understand this better understand the engine working. Like the Diesel engines burns the fuel in compression (which logically and practically increases the traveling distance of a piston) result is a higher torque (force * perpendicular distance) Higher the torque higher the power band. And when compared to petrol engine (which need a spark plug to ignite the air fuel mixture) . Though this affect the engine speed (engine RPM) this can be altered but with a very little window for operation. That's the reason diesel engines performance is not as good as petrol engine in high end. To compare a diesel engine and a petrol neck and neck. Compare a turbo petrol engine with smaller capacity of a diesel engine. (that makes a lot of sence cuz if you need to compare performance). Jeep, tata and some companies understands this better. (Just compare the car with both engine options) you'll know what I'm trying to say. I'm a Computer Science Engineer.

Both have their own advantages My family owned a Renault Pulse - Diesel and now Ertiga Petrol/CNG Petrol (Ertiga): Extremely refined engine which is the first thing one would notice when switching from diesel. Easy handling since the engine has lesser weight, Light clutch easy to drive in cities, highways requires a lot of accelerator for 100+ cruising if your car has cruise control then no issues. CNG is not that refined and takes its own sweet time to accelerate. And nowadays Marutis and Hyundais offer better mileage per litre than diesels. Maintenance is so cheap. Diesel (Pulse): Is extremely fuel efficient and also has enough performance for its size. The kick back feeling one gets when driving a diesel cannot be obtained with turbo petrols where the kick back will be felt only at 4500+ rpms. Gear shifts are mostly notchy in diesels. The clutch requires separate workout for your legs. Easy 120+ cruise in highways. The car feels heavy when going through corners. Engine noise is hell your co passenger has to shout inside the cabin. Even with all this negatives I just love diesel for its torque. If one affords to have a driver for their journey then get a diesel. If it is a self driving car then go for petrol. Diesel vehicles make the passengers and driver tired with its vibrations and clutch play.

VTEC KICKED IN YOO.. nanga veetuke vantom ya :D, one more thing is diesel engines at low rpms have a flat spot/lag which can get irritating during kickdowns when compared with NA petrol motors.

Enga cars ellame diesel. 2008 indigo crossed 4 lakhs kms and still running. But engine 3 lakh kms la pirichu velai senjirukku. 2012 skoda fabia after 3.5 lakhs kms but engine velai vekkura stage. So exchanged to ciaz 1.5 diesel which covered 1 lakh kms in 2.5 yrs. One more 2012 toyota etios crossed 2 lakh kms and in excellent condition. So for long run definitely diesel is best.

I just booked tata nexon 1.2 turbo petrol. I occasionally use car so i did not choose its diesel version and i know im gonna miss that 1.5 engine. But petrol nexon also gad good torque with adeq power

Having Altroz 1.5L Revotorq. The torque, performance and drivability is unmatchable by it's 1.2L Revotron Diesel engine's always connect with the driver very well than a petrol engine. That's the main difference. The Roar my 1.5L Revotorq gives in 2000+ rpm is addictive

Please do this combo auto-tech talk. I'm using 2007 City ZX vtec. Nearly 1.7L km done, no issues, just periodic maintenance. Not going towards diesels for heavy clutch, vibrations, few people vomit sensitive 😂
