Ashley Pantaleao of the American Institute for Research talks with Megan Konczal, Patient Safety Coordinator at Scheurer Health, a critical access hospital in Pigeon, Michigan, about the hospital's Patient Family Advisory Council, or PFAC, which has eight members.
The IPRO PFAC provides a forum for ensuring that the voices of patients and family members are represented in a meaningful and substantial manner aligning with IPRO’s quality improvement activities. The PFAC brings together patients, family members, care partners, and patient advocates representing the diverse and multi-cultural populations of the healthcare communities in which we work, in an effort to improve the patient experience across the care continuum, incorporate the patient perspective in activities and materials developed by IPRO, and enrich the participation of patients, family members, and care partners in IPRO coalitions and Learning Action Networks.
