Just a "FYI" to everyone, Murakami is the artist behind one of Louis Vuitton's monogram. He also took part in Kanye West's Graduation album design. But the list of his works goes on. Loving what is shown here by the way.

I saw Murakami's art exhibit in NYC last winter-- the details were amazing, especially when he would do the screenprinting with foil backgrounds or metallic paints. I'm happy to see that giant mural art was expanded and I hope he brings it back to New York soon!

I like and respect Murakami... but as a visual artist I got to be hands on with all my paintings... your physical signature is the attraction. Now artist are employing other artist to paint their ideas. Truth is, anyone can do that who isn't an actual artist. Hurst and Koons does that as well
@kidrobot.

i think they only do the little stuff like backgrounds and fill in colors. i mean, a little help never hurt anyone, right?
@Art_Travel_and_Hobbys
5 жыл бұрын
@@kidrobot. nah, they do more than that. I seen his artisans drawing as well... in any case, whether they are drawing or coloring that still entails ones unique physical signature. Everyone is not good at coloring so, you actually can see a difference.

@Art_Travel_and_Hobbys

@@kidrobot. never said any color was off. What I did say is everyone color signature will not be the same and some ppl aren't good at coloring. So, that was a general statement. Ppl speak about Murakami as if he is still just a basic visual artist. The man has evolved to being a commercial designer he should be spoken of in that fashion since he is no longer the only artist working on his material. Picasso and the likes would probably take cyanide poison before allowing anyone to paint their ideas... I am the same way
@Lil_refresha
5 жыл бұрын
The process of Murakami's art is an practice that Japanese artists have been doing for hundreds of years. Having an apprentice or an assistant help express your art isn't a new concept or even an odd concept. But maybe its a cultural difference and maybe not everyone thinks Picasso is the pinnacle of art.

+thejunkface Professional artists usually have assistants.... especially for huge mural art like he's been doing. It's nothing uncommon. The assistants aren't contributing anything to the actual concept-- they are taking the image from smaller scaled canvases and then blowing it up. It is his finished design and his copyright-- meanwhile all they're literally doing is just a huge copyprint job. The 'credit' they get for it are wages, like any other assistant.
