That opening bass, the walk...the slowwww pressure, knowing, what's coming, the anticipation: controlled. We all know what's coming, we're all waiting for it... Phil walks the stage probably counting every step to get through to the steps and to those drums. Awesome prep performance. And then the moment comes......Ecstasy if you love this...I don't know who can't love this.

😂... are u on heart medication? High blood pressure tablets? .. an old trick, bend over & put your head down between your legs.. hold your head down in that position for 30 seconds and pop your head back up normal. ..How'd u like that? Good?.. did u feel anything? Feel your head light-headed? Pass out?? ..I did it accidentally once inthe kitchen at a mates place, i passed out fainted & hit my head onthe side of the bench as i was going down. My mate said it looked and sounded 😮... he was surprised i hadn't fcked up my face from hitting hard corner rock (fake looking marble) granite. Im beautiful looking so lucky for me

3 steps too soon and he will stand at the drums like a guy waiting for the bus, one step too late and he blows the whole song. He's got one moment of perfection to make it all come together. This is how you know a master at work.Absolute brilliance.

ANYONE REMEMBER THE EPISODE OF MIAMI VICE WITH THIS SONG? I'm going to age myself here, the first time I heard this song was an episode of Miami Vice. It was a trend setting show back in the day, a little excessive with the cool factor, but it used music to drive the plot. The show sometimes felt like an extended music video. In this episode (as I recall) Crockett and Tubbs are speeding to an airport to apprehend a drug lord who is on a plane slowly taxiing onto the runway. This song played during the (ultimately futile) chase. Brilliant, it was perfect for the storyline. Phil Collins has had an amazing career, I still love this song, and his entire oeuvre.
