This guy was incredible, by far the greatest impressionist of them all. Bar none.

I remember looking forward to Cool It every week when I was about 10. I always thought he was like a really ‘cool’ uncle type of guy and one of my inspirations as a performer. I hope Phil is happy and enjoying his retirement. Well deserved and a true king of comedy!😊👏👏

Almost 40 years on and I've already found myself grinning like a loon at his Emaonn Andrews impression in just the first minute, none of today's so called comedians has that effect on me. I still have five of his VHS releases and a video player to watch them if I want to.

Ive tried to find the episode where he did the "Mooning" song for years. I was only a kid but thought it was hilarious. If any can help to let me hear it again, I'd be forever grateful

Deserved more tv appearances. Seems a forgotten impressionist much like Mike Yarwood.

I think it was the typical combination of changing times & styles of comedy, weaker scripts and that eternal curse of impressionists…you spend ages getting the impressions right then the person you’re doing falls out of favour Then you get stuck with dated impressions. There’s a clip of Mike Yarwood doing his Steptoe and Son impressions. It’s a brilliant piece of deconstruction if the typical show’s plot Probably is, it was in 1986, a full DECADE after the show ended 😢

We still talk about Phil Cool and how good he was. A very likeable man. Hope he is doing ok and that life is being kind to him.
