It take a movement and a half of this concerto for even the slightest hiccup. Stellar playing from one of the best.

at 1:27/1:28 he's such a good player I can't tell if that was a mistake or if he actually did it on purpose? It's a blip on this part right?

If it's a hiccup at 1:27 can someone explain to me how it's possible he makes this mistake here? It doesn't even seem technically difficult or high. Isn't this like an NBA player missing a layup?

I know that your comment is from five years ago, but I thought I'd at least give a response. The trumpet (and particularly the Eb trumpet in this case) is a finicky beast sometimes, and making mistakes just comes with the territory. Even under the best circumstances and with the best preparation for a specific passage, it is possible to miss something. This particular part of the Haydn Concerto isn't necessarily "difficult", but can be a bit awkward when coming out of the low register to the written Eb. In this case, he scratched once and immediately went back to making beautiful music. All we can ask for, right?
