Philadelphia High Schoolers Earned College Credits Learning to Code with Python
August 2023- Philadelphia- A group of Philadelphia high school students had the opportunity to learn Python programming and earn up to 3 college credits through an intensive 3-week workshop hosted by the Uncommon Individual Foundation (UIF).
From July 10-27, the students dove into coding at Nerd Street's Localhost gaming venue in Center City. The Introduction to Python workshop was made possible by a grant from AmeriHealth Caritas and was offered at no cost to city-based high school juniors and seniors interested in computer science or technology careers.
UIF is a nonprofit mentoring foundation that works with over 5,000 underserved students nationwide. In addition to programming, UIF offers college-level courses in Entrepreneurship, Media, and Animation.
