Water
Turn on the tap
And the water flows
Does anyone know
Where the water goes
Turn on the tap
And the water comes
Does anyone know
Where the water’s from
The water is clean
And the water is cool
Living in rivers
And raining in pools
Yet water can trickle
And wells can dry up
Till there’s nothing left
To fill the cup
Today there’s water
When we turn the tap on
But what will we do
When the water is gone

Water is essential for life, yet we often take it for granted and misuse it. In Malaysia, a tropical country with abundant rainfall throughout the year, water sources such as lakes, rivers, streams, and waterfalls are widespread, from Kuala Lumpur’s river of life to the Ipoh lakes. Unfortunately, many of these waterways are now polluted. It is our responsibility to protect and preserve these vital resources to ensure their continued existence on our planet as illustrated by the poem above. Here are photographs taken around my host country.
P.s.: this slideshow is accompanied by a relaxing river flowing sound enhancing hopefully your viewing. Enjoy!
