This is a very interesting community - and one of the best stories I've covered! I just have one request: please watch the whole video before asking where the waste goes. I cover that in the later parts, the government is going to do a waste management project soon.

If I recall correctly, I read somewhere a long time ago that the Badjao are so well adapted to living on water that their eyes can see underwater much better than anyone else.

Its a beautiful community. People living in stilt houses always amaze me. I would like to think that they are one big family. HK where I am has Tai O Fishing Village. Whenever I have friends visiting, I make sure I tour them in there to appreciate what life was before apart from just being awed with the skyscrapers in the city. Lovely people.

Thank you KD for featuring life, living on stilt houses. I wish the Department of Education and DSWD extend more help for these poor family and needy children. I profoundly appreciate Mr. Principal, being a student in the early years of that school and came back to become the principal. He could have chosen otherwise but the love of your roots (where you came from), will always bring you back for good reasons.

I was recently island hopping around north Mindoro and there is an elementary school, San Antonio Elementary School, on Medio Island, which is right by the sea with a small beach and crystal clear water and corals. At the time I thought this was the most unique school for location I have ever seen. The one on Basilan sure comes close.

Thanks for the vlog Sir Daot. I have a business plan for the Badjaos. I cannot say it here someone might steal my idea again but it will be awesome and deep. The Badjaos cannot live on land because they get dizzy. The water makes them calmer, but some of them tend to adopt the land culture like in Metro Manila and probably a new generation of Badjaos living in Big Cities. Thank you i might visit this town to recruit and hire Badjaos for my new business venture in the future. One Breath!

Stop judging their culture. This is their way of life. They have lived on the sea the way their ancestors did. Who are we to judge them, when capitalism and consumerism in so-called urban societies produce more carbon emissions and tons of plastic and other waste per day?

Love your vlogs! 🥰 Yes, you can eat the fruit of the pandan. The fruit is orange-yellow when ripe.
@eli.capinbxu
2 жыл бұрын
Where did you get the idea that pandan fruit can be eaten? The locals already said in video that it cannot be eaten because it is poisonous and I believe so that it is poisonous because I grow up around pandanus trees and we did not the fruit ever. You mus probably heard about pandan ice cream or pandan jelly or pandan cake but they are only the juice of a young pandan leaves and not tge fuit. If you think it can be eaten, go ahead and try it yourself and be gone out of this world.🙂
