Definitely not taking Phillies over the 4-5 weeks for granted. Loving it

Dick Allen did not replace Richie Hebner in 1976. You have it reversed, Hebner replaced Dick Allen and played 1st base for The Phillies in 1977 and 1978. And then they got Pete Rose to play 1st in 1979.

Great point about the Sixers. This is why I’ve been screaming for a while for them to trade Embid and build a team just like you’re talking about young players that play hard and couple other good starters that they could get in the trade and the assets to draft or trade for younger players.

Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, I almost threw up in my mouth on my drive home from work. Never thought you’d spout national baseball media crap. So strength of schedule looks at your opponents’ W/L records as a whole? So, the Phillies taking 2/3 from a 20-win team means less than the Dodgers taking 2/3 from a 21-win team? Give me a break Look at the Dodgers schedule, Mike. They haven’t played anyone with a winning record either. The problem the Phillies have had in recent years is that they would play down to their opponents, and they’d have a double digit deficit in the division by the Break. We’ve been saying for years, and all the national baseball media says the same thing, you have to beat the bad teams to win. Period. The strength of schedule rankings is a joke. Half the reason the teams are below .500 is because WE ARE BEATING THEM, and so are the Braves and Dodgers. The Padres were above .500 until we swept them. But, I guess that doesn’t matter now. Btw, Hebner was brought in to REPLACE Dick Allen.

I don't have any faith in this Phillies start. Yes, tied with the 1993 Team, but what happened with the 1993 Team? That team lost the World Series to Toronto with Mitch Willaims giving up the series-winning Home Run to Joe Carter. The 1976 through 1978 team couldn't win the NLCS against the Reds and the Dodgers, with the collapse against the Reds in Game 3 of the 1976 NLCS and against the Dodgers in Game 3 of the 1977 NLCS when Danny Ozark didn't replace Luzinski with Jerry Martin in the top of the ninth. If Martin had been in, he'd probably have caught that ball as opposed to Luzinski trapping it against the fence. Then playing the infamous Game 4 in the pouring rain. The 1978 Phillies didn't have a chance against the Dodgers, even though they won 1 game in LA during that series. Phillies fans have to accept the fact, we have two World Series Championships in 141 years of this franchise. This says it all. Look what happened last year in the 2023 NLCS against the Diamondbacks. They were up 3 games to 2, coming home, and still lost the series, making the 2008 and the 2009 Phillies, the only Phillies Team in Franchise History to make back-to-back World Series. As we know in all 4 major sports, the regular season means nothing. Look at last year's Boston Bruins, they had the best record in NHL History having 65 wins, 12 losses, and 5 ties, losing to an 8th seed in the 1st round of the playoffs where the Bruins were up 3 games to 1 and lost the series. I don't care how many regular season wins the Phillies have in 2024, anything less than a World Series championship is a failure. I know I'm being harsh, but how can I help it when a franchise has two championships in 141 years. I'm lucky I've seen both. It's already 16 years since they won it, but I should feel lucky because it took the franchise 97 years to win its 1st championship. 1883 to 1980. We shall see.

I would never send Pache down. I'd love to keep Clemens, but there's not a spot for him.

Dude went through the '76 roster then declined to go through the '93 roster WHICH HE COVERED. Yo if we lost to these teams this year it would suck, but WE ARE BEATING them. Win the games you play that's all. Bristol hack.

I cannot stand mike never could. Dude acts like he knows everything, he doesn't lol. And btw pache gives us Nothing, absolutely nothing bro. Tf are you talking about, we have multiple outfielders. This guy actually said " we have to keep Pache" wtff are you watching, do you watch??. Clemons contributes and can be a weapon off the bench, pache gives us literally NOTHING, and Nothing that we don't already have, what are you talking about mike🤦. Such a clown

Pache bats right, Clemons left. That's the point. But I get what you're saying, too. I wouldn't want to send Clemons down right now either, but he has options, Pache doesn't. And Pache isn't garbage, I think he's more valuable than Rojas at this point. The defense IS NOT that different between them. But I get your frustration with this topic
