Glad you got it off, mine came off pretty hard too. I think they put the triple on as you say because it is cheap, but also to push the big sprocket out away from the frame. I don't think it would fit otherwise. I put on a 50t and the main thing I got was a little slower cadence. My 6 is what my 7 used to be, so it is kind of like overdrive LOL Also, mine will not show any speed faster than what the top speed is set at. For example if yours goes 35 mph, it will not show any speed faster than that no matter if you are going downhill at 45 mph. It is kind of annoying, I wish it showed the actual speed regardless where the pas is set. Anyway, nice video and good job figuring out how to get it on there. A lessor man would have given up. I say bravo 😀 Thanks for the knowledge base you give to the Philodo community.

Thank you for the nice comments. My speedo has shown 36.? mph I just don't know for sure if the first digit will show a 4 but I assume it will but my top speed is set at 100 kph. But really the only real way to make this thing go faster is to change the controllers, this is really just to help with high speed cadence and save some of that high speed battery.

@@MrCsebike I think I have seen a 4 while coasting down a big hill if I remember right. I have had mine on for about 1500 miles, it sure is nice not to have to peddle like a maniac at top speed. Your peddle cadence will most likely be slower than mine as your chainring is a little bigger.. I would not be able to ride all day in the heat if I did not make the change. Now the only thing that limits me is the battery or should I say batteries as I have two installed 😃

@@papablueshirt I want to do a video to see what I can get for mileage if I actually try. But I hate going slow and my knees are messed up and one legs muscle mass is low. I think if I made myself do it I could get 60+ miles. A young guy with no injuries who knows.

@@MrCsebikeI did 58 miles with one battery and it was still 2 bars over 1/2, I am sure I could of went 80. But I babied it to milk the miles. I had to stop because momma was tired following me in the car. LOL To her defense it did take over 5 hrs. So on the lower pas you can really rack up the miles. On pas 5 I am getting 73 miles with 2 batteries and I am at the 1/2 when done. It is starting to slow a little, but I am sure I could do 90 or more on pas 5. But towards the end the pas 5 is really a 4 LOL But I am able to ride for 2.5 hours on pas 5 which is pretty good range, it is so fun 😀

Thank you guys for all the info, I'm following both of your channels! I plan to try some of the modifications y'all are doing at some point. My wife and I both got an SMLRO XDC600, which is practically identical to the Philodo H8. For whatever reason hers had more torque than mine, so I tried doing the 'shunt mod' on mine like you see people doing on various ebikes. I do not recommend trying that on these bikes. I may have done something wrong, but either way I blew my rear controller 🤣 That said, I knew there was a chance of that happening, so my backup plan was to get some electrical component upgrades from Grin Technologies. They should be in soon, I'll keep y'all posted if I get it to work!

I changed my rear cassette and that worked out for pedal power.

You can change either one but I wanted to get rid of the front derailleur

I also have no front derailleur. I never need to use it. 11T - 50T.

It's funny to see you going bigger with sprockets and I'm going smaller. We should just swap chains. :P

Everyone with the high powered motors want more torque and us with the smaller motors are chasing speed.

My first thought was there goes his chain line and half his gears!

Really 2/3 of the gears but I only really used four gears and none of the worked after 25 mph. This is to get use of all seven gears and still have cadence while going 30 mph. And the chain is nice and straight in 3-4 gear.

to save weight you could just put one chain guard and washers instead of the 2nd guard?

Yeah, but the right way is just to buy shorter spacers. I was just working with what is in the box. I saved weight by losing 30 pounds😁

Morning Mr. C, Do you think the philodo would fit into the back of a minivan on an angle? I have put my son's mountain bike in the back in the past. I am just hoping it will fit like with the front tire between the back seats and laying it on an angle for the height clearance. What do you think? Thank you

I tried that in a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan and it was too tall. The only way it fit was with one of the back seats up and I put the bike seat down or just took it off and backed the bike in and laid it down. Maybe if you wanted to take off the seat and front tire it would stand between the seats.
