Good Times... We in the crowd had tons of energy, and the band really seemed to be having a good time with the new arena rock thing... . TREY ON THIS DIVIDED SKY: “We were at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. And we were playing “Divided Sky,” and we got down to this quiet part where it gets silent. And we were getting quieter and quieter, and then became silence. And I had my eyes closed, and I could feel the crowd, and I started to - because improvising is, you`re trying to translate the - what`s out there already, greater pattern of things. And sometimes it feels like it`s coming through the hole, and you couldn`t play a wrong note if you tried; you`re just floating. And at that moment, you are in the middle of it, and I started to see those colors, like I`m not kidding, floating around there, and I realized that I could almost - it was silent, but I could see what we were translating. And as soon as I could see them, I started improvising, but I didn`t play anything. I did everything in the sense of improvisation, except for the actual notes, and as soon as I did it, the whole place erupted. It was like, whoa, and just tears started rolling down my face, and it was at that moment that I knew that it was truly bigger than me. It. You know what I mean? There were probably a lot of moments like that, but those two just come to mind. It was amazing.”

I love 6/18/94 because it proves that Phish’s formula of silly, proggy, energetic, improvised madness appeals to a large fan base. 6/18/94 brings the heat, the weirdness, the risks.

I'm super happy that they're still out there and when I can get my shit together I'm going to go see them again, but you are more than correct and we are super blessed that we got to go on that ride with them through the 90s and experience the greatest bands greatest trajectory ever! And the greatest guitar playing ever!

Agreed. I went to Univ of Vermont in 1987 when they were playing Nectars, bars, and parties. A house party they played in 87 was about 250 yards from my dorm (Davis). I became a fan in 90. First show was Barre VT 91. To me, the best years were 90-97, but 92-95 was the best of the best. My last show was Halloween 2014.

Typing out “phishtory”, the year of your first show and naming the amount of shows you’ve seen, does not make you seem jaded just simply pretentious

The first tape I ever had. This was the show that made me love this band. Unfortunately it wasn’t till 4 years after. Just wish I listened to my friends sooner. 94 was the first time I was introduced to them, wasn’t till late 97 I actually got it, and then 99 when I finally went. But hey better late than never, and after 25 years of shows I’m finally about to hit my 150th
