Thank you. very good explanation. It is still the Flex movement only starting with a UCLA cut

Jerry Sloan used this play with the Utah Jazz. No wonder Hornacek uses it now. There are lots of branches out of it.

My Lakers used UCLA cut vs Clippers for Mozgov's jumpshot off double-screen. Instead of cutter getting the jumpers, he curled to the basket.

1st back screen, 4 to 1 is just a cut not a screen.

Lakers Lebron James likes to run 1-4 High UCLA CUT. 😀😀😀 Usually just for a quick return pass after using that backscreen. I have seen him do the way Coach John Wooden originated only once: 1.) Basket cut & stay 2.) Weakside Elbow pops out for Ball Reversal pass & passes to the closest teammate. 3.) A single or double Pindown Screen is set for Lebron James cut up to the wing for a 3-point shot

Basically like Flex Offense with the STS-action. I would rather they go right into a Side Pick & Roll after the cutter clears out to the corner.

they dont run it even close to how good the utah team ran it in the 90's and early 2000's

If they deny the wing pass, just Dribble Entry to the WING spot yourself, forcing the wing player to backdoor cut. 😀😀😀 That's why it's critical to not pick up your dribble as a point guard. Keep a Live Dribble !!!

They are not paying attention to Scoring Option #1 = quick return pass to the point guard

I like the cutter setting a backscreen for the WEAKSIDE elbow big much better than this. 😀😀😀

The 2018 LeBron James-led L.A. Lakers are using 1-4 High style UCLA Cut. 😀😀😀 I prefer the ORIGINAL John Wooden-style. 2-3 High

The video of the Suns running the play shows how awful NBA players fundamentals are. They run the play and all of the picks are terrible and the player coming off the pick never brushes their man off the screener. So while a nice play, the examples of the Suns running it is terrible if teaching to younger players. I never assume because a player is in the NBA they have good fundamentals.

A lot of people don't like Phil Jackson because of the past battles & championships. Phi is determined to make the Triangle work. New generation has low B-Ball I.Q so, they settle for pick & roll. That's cool, but not 80% of the game. Hornacek is a passive guy, let the Sun's players wreck the team. Phil will fire him if he feels that kind of vibe in New York.

Diehard Laker fan and former coach, so I am pulling for Phil Jackson to make the Triangle work. I used John Wooden's UCLA offense with my teams.

Very poor timing and execution by the Suns player. No wonder they suck.
