This routine is typically done with preschoolers or kindergartners, but could be adjusted for older students. This video shows a routine with 4 skills: Rhyming, Counting Syllables, Blending words, Segmenting words. Notice that NO LETTERS are utilized here, as Phonemic Awareness is a foundation for reading later. In this situation, the student struggled with the last skill, Segmenting Words, so that will be the focus of the next lesson.
