The 'M' in that flexible focus spot actually means 'medium', as you can set whether you want a large - medium - small flexible focus point, if anyone was unsure :)
@DevonPotter
Жыл бұрын
And you don’t have to move the focus spot, all the time that’s just a lot of effort, I always have mine set to the middle of the frame and just move my camera to have that spot over the area I want to force on then move my camera back to frame the shot. It’s just quicker, and something you learn from street photography or wedding photography.
@ls.main1

@@DevonPotter agree to disagree, although yes it is a pain to adjust it all the time, I’ve seen professionals in my line of photography move it all the time, as with car photography the centre is often where the top of the car or the sky will be for the vehicle, as framing for cars isn’t always centred. That’s why a flexible focus spot is so special. Because you have that flexibility for any type of photography
@DevonPotter
Жыл бұрын
@@ls.main1 I believe you miss understood what I was trying to say. What you do is, set up the frame with the car where ever you want it to be for the composition you are going for then you move your focus point to the place you want it be. Where as I would and do, leave my focus point in the middle of my screen, put that point on where you want to focus, half click the shutter button to set focus then move the camera to frame you short the way you want then finally fully click the shutter button. If that makes sense. It’s a quicker and easy way to set focus then setting a new focus point of your screen every time
@ls.main1

@@DevonPotter that’s if your camera either has lock on autofocus or is not currently set to Auto focus single shot or manual focus, for me since most of my shots rapidly change and move closer or further away, I run AF - Continuous so it adjusts no matter if the target moves closer or further away, as long as focus point is on them, which would then effect your idea as continuous af doesn’t allow for your process unfortunately. It’s relevant nonetheless and a great process for new and current photographers
