Wonderful video! I love Photoshop but have a hard time with lighting painting for the photo. On the image size panel, just uncheck resample image before you change the resolution, and it will keep all the pixels the same.

its better to use the guides to mark the exact size, this way you don’t have to be re-checking if you selected the correct size.

How come you don’t use the actual crop tool? And if you uncheck “resample” when you’re changing the dpi, you don’t have to change it back to the original pixel count, you can just adjust to 300 :)

I paint abstract onto white canvases a lot, and I find that my background is never consistent, even when I light it the best I know how. There's a bit of yellowish hue on some of it etc. I am a beginner, so sorry if this is a basic thing I should know. Can you point me to a video or just tell me how to get the entire canvas to be white and the same on the entire painting? Thanks!

You can use the selection tool to select the area of your picture that you want to adjust, feather the edges (under select>modify>feather) then go to hue/saturation or levels, depending on what you want to change.
