Egg - 1
Milk powder - 3 tbsp
Powdered sugar - 2 ½ tbsp
Butter - 10g / 1 tbsp
Corn flour - 5 tbsp
Maida - 4 Tbsp +1tbsp
Baking powder - ¼ tsp + 1 pinch
Salt - ¼ tsp
Bake at 150°C / 300°F for 15-17 minutes
Hi everyone, today I am here with the recipe of everybody’s favourite milk biscuits.
To prepare the dough of the biscuit, into a large mixing bowl, add 5 tablespoons of cornflour, 4 tablespoons of plain flour , 3 tablespoons of milk powder and ¼ teaspoon and a pinch of baking powder along with quarter teaspoon of salt and mix everything really well with your hand until all the powders are well incorporated.
Into this dry mixture, add a tablespoon of ghee or butter and mix really well with the flour mixture.
Next, break in one egg and mix everything into a dough, by adding two and half spoons of powdered sugar.
Next, start kneading everything into a dough and keep adding a little extra plain flour if the dough starts to stick to your hand.
Try your best to add as little plain flour as possible, because less plain flour will increase the taste of the biscuit.
Knead the dough really well into a smooth ball and separate the ball of dough into two chunks and knead each junk separately and roll it out into a sausage like shape and cut out 1 cm pieces from the sausage like shapes.
Next, roll each piece into little round balls and place it on a Tawa.
Next, place the Tawa on another heated Tawa so that the Tawa containing the biscuit will not be in direct contact with the heat/flame.
After placing a tawa on a hot Tawa, close it with a lid so that no steam escapes
Bake the biscuits on a low to medium flame for around 15 to 17 minutes, or until the biscuits look golden brown from the bottom, when lifted.
With this, our milk biscuits are ready to be served
