I seen a lot of cops are very unhealthy in the police force and i had to balance my meals when i was a former police officer but i drink plenty of water, eat healthy and did my workouts with body strength. Thank you Cop Mom.

Yes, it is true some officers are not the healthiest. Continuing to eat healthy and working out should be continued after the academy and for the rest of your life 💙

Hi! Im a new subscriber! Im in the process of training my body. I feel great and im building my cardio......my plan is to pass my (PT Test) by mid August ....and push my application in right after i pass. While i await the next phase, im focusing on studying basics as you have suggested, cardio, and planks....lol. Im looking forward to 2025.....any advice for sore knees? Has your knees ever felt a little wobbly?
@copmom911

I don't personally deal with knee soreness but if you are able to, I would highly suggest meeting with a physical therapist. They can go over all your aches and pains and give recommendations. It has been so helpful to me and I still see a physical therapist. Keep up the great work and keep me updated! 💙

I’m good at doing push-ups non stop but from the videos I’m seeing on here, the push-ups have a plank hold after each one. How many push-ups/planks should I expect to do in the academy?
@copmom911
9 ай бұрын
They’re going to switch it up depending on what you’re doing. They may put you in lean and rest for five minutes. Or they may have you do a combination of push ups and lean and rest. They used to say down and up at different intervals when doing push-ups which was annoying. But if you’re practicing with lean and rest and also doing several sets of push-ups each day, you will be ready for it. Everyone gets tired and fatigues but you just have to keep getting back up. You got this! 💙

I recently helped a female friend train for an intial fitness test with the PD. Push-ups were one of her weak points. Aside from several of the exercises outlined by Cop Mom as well as weight training routines, on a regular basis, we did pushups at the end of every other workout. so at least 3 to 4 times a week. This consisted of doing three sets of push-ups for one minute each set. She would do 1 or more strict push-ups and then (instead of quitting) drop immediately to her knees and continue with the push-ups for the remainder of the time. At the beginning she would do 1 to 3 strict pushups and about 10 to 15 knee push-ups. After each one-minute set she took a two-minute break to fully recover before starting over again. After about 10 weeks of training, she was doing between 24 and 28 strict push-ups in a minute for her first set. Take a two-minute rest and do another one-minute set. usually completing about 15 to 20 pushups. And a third set doing 10 to 15 pushups. When she was unable to do more during each one-minute set, she would drop to her knees and continue. After the first 4 weeks, I no longer allowed her to drop to her knees, and instead stay in the leaning rest position. She easily passed her initial fitness test two weeks ago. She did her 25 pushups in 45 seconds, 30 sit-ups in 40 seconds, the 32-foot 165lb body drag in 15 seconds and the 1.5 mile run in 13 minutes 10 seconds. Now we are training for the academy in December. Keep in mind this young lady had never done any physical training in her entire life and she is 36. So, it is possible!! Good luck!!

Start out doing push-ups off of a wall. As they get easier, transition to push-ups at an angle. So for example, start doing them off of some stairs or a bench. When those become comfortable, lastly transition to the ground. Start doing some chest presses with dumbbells.. they help develop the stabilizer muscles. Active duty military here. Hope this helps.

I work at Dunkin and i have to say it but it's disappointed to see a lot of cops are not in shape to be honest with you. I would have them come and get 12 dozen of donuts and x large hot coffees with extra cream and sugar. My wife would stop and drink her coffee, she likes to workout, eat healthy and drink plenty of water. She does those workouts that you're doing.

Maintaining physical fitness can be a challenge over the years, but I believe it is necessary for all officers to be putting in the effort. And trust me, we notice others who do absolutely nothing and let themselves go. It makes us all look bad. Your wife sounds awesome! 💙
