One mistake: for syncline it should be older in the outside and younger in the middle

thank you for these videos!! I am taking Earth Science at cerritos college and i was pretty lost at the anticline and syncline concept, but your videos helped me to understand it much better. Especially the plunging part, i was very lost before. Thank you agian!!

How can you tell from the contour lines which is the youngest / oldest layers?

On Geologic maps, they give the geologic period associated with a bedding of rock. If the rock in the middle is Quaternary and the rocks on the periphery are Cretaceous, then we know that it's a Syncline.
