What a treasure to find this old orchard!! I think those are Anjou pears. Where did you get the glass lids? I live in BC.

There are many different ways you can cook apples, sauce or apple butter. Choose your favorite method and go for it. :) Personally, I like cooking apples on the stovetop because I can fit LOTS in my giant stock pot. And I like making apple butter in the stove, because I don't have to stir it and (once again) can do A LOT all at once in my large roaster. :) But do whatever works best for you: crockpot, instant pot, electric roaster, stovetop, oven...whatever helps you get the job done! :)

Sure do! I would recommend learning to either pressure can potatoes, or learn to keep them in cold storage (if you live in a cooler climate). You can also freeze them, provided you've precooked them until soft. I teach pressure canning potatoes in my online course: bit.ly/48BMYQC Here's my video on storing potatoes in cold storage: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2pCp3XlvroF_dGUsi=ChFOuTbW3FBJybfT And you can read the potato storage tutorial here, if you prefer: atraditionallife.com/cure-potatoes-for-winter-storage/
